


American Veterinary Medical Association Conference 2024 has invited Complex Bow Wow Therapy Teams to participate as Therapy dog support for event attendees!

Parking and Arrival Information:
- Arrival Time: Please arrive at least 30-40m before the start of your shift to allow time to check in at the registration desk and get acclimated to the exhibit hall space
- Parking/Drop Off: View parking information here on the convention website. There are two lots; one on 2nd and 5th street
- Please use the QR code provided for parking to get to the parking fee COMP-ed area (Betsy will provide to you in email prior to the event)
- Picking up Badges/Access to the CC: Please pick up badges at the exhibitor registration desk. (Call Neela Johnston if any issues)
Attire:
- Dog will wear Dog alliance vest and The Farmer's Dog bandanas
- Handlers may be asked to wear sponsor tshirt as well.
Booth Information:
- After picking up badges and ribbons for dogs, Dog Alliance should make their way to booth #413 in the exhibit hall. See map. Contact Neela Johnston upon arrival
- The space is 20X30 in size, with a smaller enclosure for the dog activity area
- Capacity for the enclosure space is 20 people
- The dog activity area will have an entrance door and a back door
- Coffee will be served across the aisle in #513
- AVMA will staff booth during open hours, handle crowd control, time limits and sign-ins if necessary
- AVMA's sponsor, The Farmers Dog, will have a presence at the booth
- AVMA will provide water for therapy dog teams.
- Handlers please bring preferred water bowl for your dog
Breaks and Relief Area
- It is expected that each team will take at least one 15m break over their 2hr shift
- Nearby map of suggested relief areas
- Two parks; Brush Square 4th and Trinity, as well as Sir Swante Palm Neighborhood
Other Important Information
- The Dog Alliance will provide DHPP and Rabies medical information ahead of time
- It is understood that the dogs will be available for support during designated hours as noted in the volunteer system, with main breaks before and after the hours if possible
- Dogs must be leashed at all times
